Do not take this professor!!! I took him my freshman year and I got wrecked. His lectures, homework, and quizzes are pretty straight forward and easy. They are easy because they are all related, meaning what he teaches will appear on the homework, which in turn appears on the homework.
The exams however are way harder with the final exam being nearly impossible. I aced Midterm 1 and 2. They are like the homework and quizzes except they contain multiple steps and require understanding of connecting principles.
However, the final example was a complete joke. Do you ever hear of those jokes about college exams like "an apple weights 50 grams. Find the mass of the sun". His exam was EXACTLY that. One of the questions was like a cross product of b is equal to c. Find j???? I ended up getting the class average, a 40% and ended the class with a B. I would have got an A if it wasn't for the fact he decided to fuck everyone for the final.
Schroeder is a difficult, but a good professor. I struggled in his 31B class and I ended up in his 32A the next quarter. He's good at explaining things and usually relates it to real world examples. He also always answers questions in lecture fully, and I went to his office hours once and he was helpful. However, his exams are quite hard. Not the right class for someone looking for an easy pass.
