The professor places an emphasis on assisting any and all students, including immigrants, non-native speakers, native speakers, and beginners. Although you would have to have a degree of fluency in understanding basic conversational Vietnamese, he explains everything thoroughly in class, from the words you do not understand, to the meaning of each poem and literature prose. Each class is extremely personable so you will be participating and talking to him and other students regardless. He takes care of his students and works to make sure everyone feels at home and comfortable in his classes.
Professor genuinely cares about students' learning, and about the students themselves! His joy for teaching really reflects through his interaction with the class, the way he is concerned about students' wellness and offers constant encouragement. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable of the subject matter, he is kind, and wise in general. I learned a lot from him, in class and outside of class. I appreciated all his efforts. The heart he puts forth is inspiring and commendable.
