Lynch is a really really nice guy but not a very effective professor. He often goes off on tangents or will try to explain a concept and end up confusing students even more. His tests are alright - pretty fair. Make sure to read the book thoroughly and do a lot of the practice problems. I would not like to take a class with him again but it's also not the end of the world. Not an easy class but not difficult either. Rely on outside studying a lot. Your in class notes won't make much sense because his lecturing is not that organized.
Lynch was a pretty good professor for MAE 101. His lectures weren't too boring and he likes to talk to the students.
You can never go to lecture and just learn everything from the book BUT he tells the class what specific problems he's going to put in the exam, so its worth it to go to class. At the end of the class, there are some techniques that he teaches that are not in the book, so you need to go to lecture for that.
Overall Lynch was a good professor who really cares about his students. Take him.
