Dr. Evans was amazing! Highly recommend this class he's super nice and understanding. There's only one big project in this class where you read a research paper and create a presentation over it with your group which sounds scary but it was kind of fun. And before the presentation Dr. Evans was kind enough to take the time out of his day to let the group practice presenting and give critiques so you can edit the presentation before you do it in class so you know what to change and how to get an A on the presentation.

The lectures are really interesting but sometimes dense in the way that it is neuroscience but honestly out of all the neuro classes i've taken thus far this is by FAR the easiest one i've ever taken. The midterm and final were challenging in the way that it was helpful for me to basically transcribe verbatim all lectures into a doc but once I had that the exams were a breeze and I found myself not needing to even refer to it all that much more so for clarification of the questions that asked about complex systems with a lot of connections and if u mess up one part u mess up the whole thing type of questions. But the exams were more than reasonable, they weren't trying to trick you or purposefully make you fail it (*cough* unlike *cough* M101 series...) I'm pretty sure the majority of the class got A's.

Class discussions were also super interesting, granted I took it over zoom so i don't know how that would operate in person but people were constantly typing in the chat and giving different perspectives and it was super cool that the profs would just join in the conversation in the chat with you and were very casual with it. Normally I have a lot of anxiety w/ talking in class since I don't want to like say a wrong answer or anything like that and look stupid but this class fostered a very welcoming environment and I really enjoyed it.

Dr. Evans is a wonderful professor. I really enjoyed his lectures on prairie voles and addiction. He was insightful and engaging in and out of class. I highly recommend his teaching and this class in particular!
