Dispite of all these low ratings, I love the professor of this class. Farely speaking, her class was easy to follow and also slow enough to make sure you fully understand. Her exams also follows close to her lectures. She has an accent for sure, but you can tell she tried her best to make everyone understand. She's a tough grader though, I only got B+ when my final score is 20 points higher than the mean with similar median.
The professor doesn't explain her proofs properly. She jumps around erratically in her proof-making process and leaves steps unsaid that most of the class can't understand since there isn't a linear narrative to extrapolate from. A lot of times when people ask for clarification, she sounds disdainful and sort of just points at a section of the board saying "don't you see?".
Her lecture is exactly the copy of Professor Tao's notes on his page and the theorems in Rudin. The midterm and final are not hard but strange, almost noone use those problems. I agree with the following evaluation given by that 33B guys.
I really enjoyed having class with her. She is easy to understand, both in terms of explaining things and actually speaking clearly (not always a given!). She would actually make a great ventriloquist, but her accent is very soft and pleasant. Her midterms and final are extremely fair and test the material covered in class. There was usually a question or two just asking for a basic definition of a course concept. She was quite funny at times and is very approachable in office hours. I hope I can take another one of her classes!
