Her class was amazing. She is such a great lecturer and so passionate about the subject, that it just makes the class to great. There is a lot of memorization and I wish there would have been slide IDs, because it would have made the memorization useful. Instead you had to ID an artwork solely in an essay. The tests weren't too bad or lengthy, but be prepared to write quickly. The essays aren't bad either. The second and longer one was a bit boring and only pertained to the methodologies of art analysis. I wish it would have been based more on the art work from the era we studied, but it wasn't that bad. I would highly recommend taking her. I hope I have her as a professor again before leaving UCLA.

Fall 2020 - I loved this class and love the professor. The material is pretty heavy and the posted lectures were long with lots of info, and we'd have additional reading. So definitely time consuming but it was very interesting and I learned a lot not only about art but about early colonialism in Latin America. The exams were writing based and a little long but it was engaging work in my opinion, and she's not a hard grader.
