Feels like she is very unexperienced or new. I learned only a bit from this class compared to other classes where the professors are more professional and helpful. She also barely replies her emails, and there are no TAs. Having a TA would help a lot since she always seems busy.
She has a sloppy syllabus and no rubric or feedback on exams and assignments. You don't know what you're expecting and she gives you a random grade without telling you what you did wrong, nor there was a rubric beforehand. She is very inconsiderate of students during this pandemic and when students try to communicate to her as a class, she never replies or sticks to her original plan with no consideration after many students talk to her about the course in lecture. The only thing she improved was giving more time for the final, but that doesn't really make a difference since she chose to omit the study guide (which was included in the midterm), and no rubric for the final. If students request something from her and she changed it, she would make other parts of the course harder or more confusing so she can grade harder. Also, the quiz questions does not reflect the readings we did. We could simply command+F and find it in the PDF. Reading beforehand does nothing as she doesn't put effort in constructing quiz questions. Command+F will get you a higher score than reading the assignments. :)
I feel like a lot of people were really hard on this professor, seemingly forgetting that she was going through a pandemic as well. Overall, I thought that the class had a lot of reading to do, but it was all interesting and not difficult to understand. We had weekly quizzes based on the readings, and you could Command+F the answer, and there was no time limit so they were not too difficult. We also had a weekly discussion post where she posted what she would like to be included in our posts and we also had to respond to our classmates. There was not enough time for the midterm, but she fixed that for the final. We also had a 1500 word reflection paper that was due. I found that if you did the readings and took notes, the final and midterm (and essay) were a piece of cake. Overall, my biggest annoyance with this class was the complaining of fellow students, claiming that this class was absurd and unfair. I felt that the professor was trying her best a she was also going through the pandemic. Other students were constantly trying to get things to be easier claiming that things were extremely unfair, also saying that the coursework should be made easier because they were in 4 other classes. However, the work was already easy! I highly recommend this class if you are willing to do the readings as it is quite easy and extremely interesting.
