Fall 2020 - The course material is easy to digest and organized. However, god forbid you to have a question to ask Professor Carpenter. If you ask a question and she doesn't a) immediately understand what you're asking or b) it's not a clarification question, she will EXPLODE! She went off on a lot of students for asking very valid questions in class. She accuses you of wanting points back on a test if you want an explanation regarding an exam question, even if you just want to know why you got it wrong. Asking the TAs for support isn't really helpful either, but maybe your TAs will change. As long as you're a wizard on Google and can get help from there, this class should be fine. But if you're someone who needs to ask a lot of questions in class to comprehension, this is NOT the class for you. Her tests are fair and she is very transparent about what will be on it. She makes good analogies in class that really helped with my understanding of certain concepts. She has some very peculiar quirks (slapping the table, going off about UC Berkeley, talking about how hard it is to be a professor, SEQUESTRATION!!, humble bragging), but overall, she's not bad.

Summer 2016 - I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about, I found Carpenter to be a very good professor. I took her online course over the summer and she doesn't have many deadlines so it's super useful for me to set up at my own pace. She also provides recommended deadlines, so if you're the type that prefers a set schedule set up than you can use that.. My TA was Judy and she was also helpful. There were weekly modules with quizzes that are basically open book. The midterm is due whenever you want (as long as it's done before the final) and there's a lab section to the class. There is a lecture midterm, lab midterm, lecture final, and lab final. The only downer is that the material is mandatory and expensive. You have to have the required A&P program to complete the lab and extra credit for the class. Overall a good experience so far and this class is extremely helpful to anyone entering the healthcare field. Selling: Human Anatomy textbook + A&P program at a (very!) reduced price.
