I had never taken a fiat lux before, so this was my first try and I LOVED IT! This class was a small 20 student setting, which was great, because as a second-year STEM major, I was so used to big classes with 200-400 students. I also loved the interactive nature of every class. We had discussions each week and even would talk about our opinions in small groups before talking about it as a whole class. This class opened my eyes to the difficulties institutions face on what is the best way to promote diversity and how to know they are successful in doing that. I also learned how to make much better surveys and what factors may lead my results to become more or less conclusive. Even besides the class, Hannah and Casey were great because they made all of our feelings feel welcome and would interact and get to know each of us on a 1-1 level. In addition, their strong relationship as best friends was also key to spreading that joy and passion to the students. They were both funny, energetic, and well-informed people, and I would love to take another class with them in the future!
