A sweet professor, always in a good mood, never looses her cool. Only problem is that the class gets boring because of it. It's pretty much the standard French class, only 4 papers and 2 tests and a presentation (no final).
Professor Delavault was very concerned with our learning and progress. She paced the class with the rate we progressed, so that when we began to lag at the end of the quarter, she eased our load a bit by giving us a bit more time for our papers and slowing down the pace. She put the emphasis on our learning and participation, not on the work we did. Attend class and participate, it makes up a significant amount of your grade.
Professor Delavault was my favorite french teacher. She's young, extremely intelligent and makes the class fun and exciting (not like some of the french professors at UCLA). She is VERY energetic when it comes to helping students in and out of the classroom. Her grading policy was fair and she made sure that all the students understood without making them feel stupid or intimidated. I highly recomend her and hope to take one of her courses again before I graduate.
