I enjoyed this class, but it was a ton of work. If you really want to be a director, definitely take this class. You can't miss any classes though otherwise it is super detrimental to your grade, and I know it's tough given that this course requires so many hours. I would take this class only with one other GE and no other extra-curricular things going on. I would also try to get to know more people in the class so that they might help you in your assignments. Pretty much each week there's a new scene you have to develop given a specific prompt. Focus on dramatic tension, so that the scene remains stimulating because that's what Brian wants. Be prepared for a lot of feedback from your classmates, and to make your life exist only for directing for the ten weeks that you take this course. Seriously, if you have other stuff going on, you might need to wait until that stuff gets set aside before taking this course. Be forewarned:)

I learned a lot about directing with this professor! The class is a lot of work, and I wouldn't recommend taking it alongside more than 1 or 2 GEs because of all the rehearsal time required outside of class. I think the class is valuable to anyone studying theater. It's one of the most useful classes I've taken so far, and I think most of my class would agree
