One of the worst professors I have had at UCLA. I took his 298 class, which is interesting, but is much more worth auditing. He has no basis for grading whatsoever, and is extremely vague about requirements for his midterm paper.

For example, once I asked him how long the paper has to be, and whether he wants a specific format, and then he said "just tell me a story". Then, the next time, he says format it like a business proposal. Then, he says do whatever you want. Like make up your mind. Seriously. Avoid this professor at ALL costs not worth your time

BE 147. Class is 60% bullshit and 30% marketing and 10% scientific merit and feasibility. Also for the final paper I spent more time on finding the 40 minimum paper references than actually spending time thinking and writing my paper. Also, his powerpoints are god awful. He cant even put together a nice looking presentation. He pastes the first thing he sees on Google images. Not to mention are his numbers and references. His sources are highly questionable. Plus he is a hypocrite, his presentations uses all data from websites, but he tells his students to have a minimum of 40 references and none can be websites.
Good things from the class: the Professor stresses how to market a product. The highlight of the class are some cool videos on tissue engineering, which I can find on my own.

Save your time and effort. Youtube videos on the subject matter on your own if you are truly interested. You will enjoy that more than this class.

Awful Professor. Grading was totally inconsistent and had no logic. Class material is disorganized. He is rude, arrogant and flat out insults students. Not very professional. His lectures aren't well organized and he seems not to care at all.

I took his BME 298 class. He tried to be concerned and did so also but he has a very bad grading. He does not have a concrete grading rule for reports. Although the class was easy just requiring 3 reports, he did not grade generously. He grades like he is lending some money.
