If you're taking 14B in the summer or can wait till summer, TAKE HER CLASS! As a premed and someone who doesn't really give a crap about chem, this is one of the most ideal situations you can have. First of all, there is no curve. Straight up 90 A, 80 B, etc. This takes out all the competition and makes for a much more relaxed environment. She gave out somewhere around 30-40 pts of extra credit, so in reality you need maybe an 85ish for an A. But to get these points, you need to GO TO CLASS, or have a friend who does, since she'll just mention extra credit opportunities briefly and have them be due first thing in class on whatever day. I missed a few so I don't know the exact total. Her tests (2 quizzes, one midterm and final) are all extremely straightforward, and are at the same difficulty as her lecture examples or hw problems. So not too hard to get enough pts for some sorta A.
As a person, Dr. Silva is amazing. She is one of the nicest, friendliest professors I ever had. You can hear it in her voice and can tell from her body language. She truly loves chem and loves teaching. Yeah, she got a pretty thick Spanish accent and takes some getting used to, but eventually you'll get it. It's actually kinda entertaining. Combined with the passion in her voice, she sounds like something out a Spanish soap opera. Plus, she answers emails within a few hours, as they all go to her iphone. Can you say the same things about Scerri? Hell no. Lavelle? I dunno but from what I've heard I'd say no.
You may or may not get a whole lot out of her lectures. She's pretty hard to follow, I dunno if because I just couldn't pay attention or because her teaching. But she does go pretty slow and everything before OChem is straight out of the book so not too big of a deal to go over it on your own the night before the test. But oh god, her handwriting is horrible. So hard to read sometimes. Oh well.

She's pretty hard to follow, but just read the textbook and you'll be fine for her quizzes/exams. She gives A LOT of bonus points when she sees that most of her students are failing her tests, which is good. She's DEFINITELY easier than other chemistry teachers during the year, so take her during the summer. She's super nice and really cares about preparing her students for future chem classes. I got a A- (her final dropped me by 8% :[), and overall, I put a moderate level of effort into the class.
