BEWARE OF TA'S. They claim to be in our shoes being students themselves, but they do not realize that they are budding professionals in their fields. In other words, they think that we should know what they know (i.e everything).
Mmmkay. The material was interesting, learning about numerous counseling styles (per lecture). I mean, it seems pretty practical and enlightening. It's unfortunate I don't remember much of it since the class required so much memorization and cramming. I don't think that the amount of material can be retained without cramming, or with cramming for that matter. It just was a [feces]-load of work and memorizing. Grading was brutal. Tests were [gluteous]-worthy. Lectures were rushed and full of wonderful details of everything. I guess this class may not always suck this much since TAs come and go, but damn... Damn...
On the plus side, there was one particular TA that was genuine and caring, but that's about it. She was still an evil grader. So if you don't care about grades and just want to "learn" about counseling, this class is a great base. Actually, I don't care about grades myself but I normally don't have to work my [gluteous] off for a C.
Overall score: Wack -
BEWARE TAS! "Well" intentioned TA's claim to understand our situation having only been in our seats years prior. However, they do not realize that they are budding experts in their field and that we don't know shit about these fields ourselves. Too much material in too little time, and I think that grading was definitely harder than need be. Don't remember much except for a stupid movie.
