Great professor, great class. Makes an effort to learn and remember your name, easy to ask questions to, open to suggestions and communication. Responds to emails quickly and thoroughly. Very fair. Interesting class, I definitely recommend taking it. One of the best (and most interactive) classes I've taken so far.
Professor Nahapetian is decent at lecturing. However, since I had no experience in programming, the class was very alien to me, so I went to her office hours, where I did learn a lot, and she learned a lot from me. Point is, she saw me improve throughout this course and gave me a good grade because of it. Basically, if you show that you're willing to work hard and improve your abilities, she'll give you a nice grade. She believes mostly in improvement through results.
I think it was her first time teaching the class because the midterm was way too easy and everybody got a's. She tries really hard and I thought she taught the class very well, the book is not that good but she does a good job teaching it. The final was WAY harder but it was curved so not that hard of a class.
蛮给力,你要是把那5分给我就更给力了... 不过说实在的,这门课我还是自己看书多
I agree with everything the previous M51A poster said except the final was not "way" harder. I almost never leave a final early and was out after 1.5 hours and got near perfect on it.
