I took ENGCOMP 3D with Professor Martinez during fall quarter of my freshman year. He was incredibly nice and a very easy grader. He encouraged building relationship with the peers in the class. There are 3 papers and that is the majority of your grade, although participation (including attendance) is also a small portion of your grade. There are a lot of homework readings, all very interesting and thought provoking. However, you don't need to do them in order to succeed in the class, because as a class, we summarize the readings at the beginning of class. Professor Martinez was very funny and I was sad to say goodbye to him at the end of week 10. He was an incredibly easy grader and this was a very very easy A. Homework was not a part of your grade so everything is basically optional except showing up to class, doing the papers, and occasionally raising your hand in class. Overall, a very easy and fun course. I cannot emphasize enough: IF YOU NEED TO FULFILL WRITING 1, TAKE PROFESSOR MARTINEZ. He is the best professor ever. I would take this class again without a doubt.
This class had a very light workload and was pretty easy. If you go to office hours, the professor will basically edit your essays and ensure you get an A. We only had 3 essays and they were pretty short. There were some reading homework assignments through discussion posts but they were quick,
