Spring 2016 - Amazing professor. I'm a sociology major who took this class as a G.E. because it seemed interesting. The class was taught by both Walker and Hill. Very clear lectures and the book is easy to follow as well. He will even explain things in lecture if you have any questions. Selling the Loose Leaf text Psychology in Modules for $55. I accept Venmo and will ship priority. Sorry, I moved out of LA its the only way. I will ship asap and give you a tracking number. I paid so much for the books I've been collecting over my time at UCLA. I want to give someone a good deal! HMU. Text: **********. Its loose leaf but I put it back in its original shrinkwrap. I'll send you pics so you can see. No damage whatsoever I take great care of my things. especially textbooks so I can sell them back lol.

Winter 2017 - Dr. Hill is very clear with his lecture materials and is willing to help students outside of his class. His lectures are engaging and he always tells short anecdotes to help students understand the materials better. His exams are very reasonable: if you attend lectures and review the power point slides, you will be fine. The final project is also fun because it gives you an opportunity to modify a behavior and change your bad habits and observe any subjective changes within yourself.

Winter 2017 - Do NOT take the Gerontology version of 119. Take Psych M119O; they both count the same, whether you're Psych, Psychobio, or a Gerontology minor. ***This distribution is seriously inaccurate; it was copied from Psych M119O, but they are NOT the same class. Check the distributions if you don't believe me. You will see that they are the same. The readings are different and so you get a different test. The Gerontology one is kind of like an Honors section, and in Week 2, you have to sign up for a 2-hour weekly learning session*** tldr; don't take this version... dropped my GPA from 3.98 to 3.91.

Fall 2018 - I don't recommend this class unless you have plenty of time to read the whole book and take notes on every detail and memorizing them. There are two tests ( each 60 MC) which are not hard, but the problem is you have to know every detail in the book because 60% of the questions are from the book and they are never discussed in the lectures. Two tests each 42.5% and two projects consist of 5% and 10%.

Fall 2018 - Overall, the content of the class is interesting but the lectures aren't engaging most of the time. Reading the textbook clarifies topics in class that maybe weren't so clear. Tests are doable but require you to memorize small details that aren't important to understanding the important themes of the class content. Take this class if you want to start thinking more about what it means to age and briefly understand ethical/social/political concerning aging. Or if you just want an easy class to fulfill a requirement. The courses that follow this upper div go more in depth, this class is just a quick run down on topics of aging.
