I learned a lot from Andrew, I honestly think he teaches a lot better than some Econ professors I have had before. Econ 11 is notoriously difficult but going through it with Andrew was actually really nice. I just kept practicing the homework problems he provided and they actually helped a lot, plus don’t be afraid of asking him for help because he’s VERY clear when he explains again.
I don’t know if he’ll keep teaching it like that but during the summer it was a flipped classroom in which we watched lecture before reviewing all together which was great! I loved it, it made me become familiar with the material and reviewing with the class afterwards really made all the material stick.
If you need to take the class and get the chance, take this class with Andrew. It is definitely a challenge but I assure you he will help you get through it!
Econ 11 is a really hard class, but if you have the chance to take it with Heinzman then definitely do it. The exams have predictable questions and the lectures & slides are clear and easy to understand. Make sure to grind practice problems though because the curve is not that great.
I felt that I was doing well in this class and could understand the material quite clearly, but the way questions are formulated and the time crunch during exams was enough to bring my grade down.
The math in this class is not so bad, but it can be conceptually difficult to remember when to use certain formulas.
Andrew was very clear in lectures, and offered good notes which were helpful for review. The workload when I took the class during summer was very manageable, with only a few quiz problems per week.
