I took French Novels with Loselle, and even though I was very interested in the subject, I didn't enjoy the class. She is very disorganized and refuses to give concrete reading assignments; instead she says to read "as far as you can." She then reveals the plot of the entire book before anyone has finished it. The reading is doable, but she doesn't seem to understand that her students have other classes. I had a MW class, and she gave about the same length assignments for each day, which made Tuesdays difficult. Also, the final paper was due on Friday in 10th Week, and the take-home final was due the following Monday of Final's Week, despite the fact that the final was scheduled on URSA for the Friday of Final's Week. She is a fair grader, but the class is by no means an easy A, especially for non-English majors. I would only recommend taking this class if you really LOVE French literature.
Loselle is really nice, not a bad class at all. four 3-5pg papers, zero exams. all you really need to do is skim the novels but its important to attend class to get her insight to help write the papers. She grades pretty understandably, i got mostly B's on the papers.
