Dr. Anowski was a great professor! She basically just follows her slides but she has great energy and keeps it as engaging as possible for an introductory class. She uses a lot of examples to make the information clear which was really helpful. This class also had a ton of office hours so I always felt like I could get help easily when needed. The assignments and tests were manageable and super similar to the content learned in class. As long as you pay attention, you should be fine!

I really like this professor. She seems very down to earth and very reasonable. She also makes a 2 hour lecture as engaging as it can be and gives us a break everyday. All of the lectures are recorded on bruin cast and only 3 of the 20 are mandatory for the group work. You have to pick a group to work with, but it is only for a few labs. The rest of the work is independent and fairly easy to do. If you go to the lectures and pay attention, you will know all of the information. There is a textbook offered, but you don't need it and it is free anyways.

Good class overall. Prof lectures off the slides but very clearly and organized. She is willing to help if you have questions too. Group projects are prevalent and quarter-long, so find a good group. Weekly quizzes are relevant info and multiple choice. Midterm was online and multiple choice, easy, but final was very difficult -- in person, paper pencil, and cumulative.

This professor was nice enough, but her grading is ridiculously nit picky. She takes off points for the smallest things on assignments, and this can bring your grade down a lot. This class should be an easy A, but it definitely was not. If you’re taking psych 10, I would recommend a different professor.

Although Professor Ankowski was a wonderful and compassionate lady, sometimes her method of instruction was monotonous and repetitious, which gave the impression that the topic was less engaging than it was. Yet, she makes a commendable attempt to demonstrate to pupils how to do research techniques and analysis very practically. Most of her assignments have quite strict grades, but for students with more assiduous study habits, this could seem like a worthwhile challenge. The tests were relatively easy-going if you put in the time to study for them.

As a student eagerly coming into UCLA as a pre-Psychology major, this class made me nervous about pursuing a future in the major. While Professor Ankowski was nothing but a lovely and kind person, the way she taught could sometimes be tedious and repetitive, making such interesting material come across as more dull than it actually is. On the other hand, she makes an admirable effort to show students how to approach research methods and analysis in a very hands-on way. The grading for most of her assignments is fairly harsh, but for students with more diligent study habits this may seem like a productive challenge. Overall, I personally wish Ankowski used her influence as an Introductory Psych teacher to motivate students more than test student's passion for Psychology.

The only reason I didn't get a full A in this class is because I got lazy. Lectures are engaging (2 hours long, with a 10-minute break after the first hour) but are definitely difficult to pay attention if you've got the 8AM lecture (like I did). Group projects are simple, but a little disorganized in terms of grouping, as you sort of just group up with the people you're sitting near and hope that they contribute. As a psych professor, it makes sense that Ankowski uses well-known study strategies to make sure we remember all of the content (there is a lot!) but as long as you are focused, use the study tips, and review the extensive vocabulary before the midterm and final, you're all set.

She's a super nice and easy professor. She has engaging lectures that are recorded on Bruincast so you don't necessarily have to attend lectures. We have group projects, but they're easy. Tests are online and aren't necessarily hard you just have to study a bit. We have quizzes every now and then but they're low stress and based on lectures.

Probably the easiest class you will take at UCLA. As long as you attend/watch the lectures and review her slides, you’re set for an A in the class. The labs and article analysis can be a bit tedious at times but help boost your grade. Overall, I enjoyed this class and would definitely recommend it.

Overall, good, simple, recommended.
However, there is not extra credit at all.
Professor Ankowski is very clear and helpful if you need help. The class is simple to understand. There are a lot of specific terms, names, etc. that need to be memorized. Basically no math at all. Just memorization.
