Dr. Bailey was super understanding, cared a lot about her students & the course topics, and led the class beautifully! Classes were always engaging, the assignments were fun and creative, and the class’s structure really encourages peer connections & relationship building. Dr. Bailey did a great job integrating all classroom components and overall fostered a super fun environment where we felt ready & excited to learn. There were 4 major assignments: an article summary, a student interview, a parent interview, and a final paper. We also worked in pod groups for the first hour of class where we met in YRL and also had a separate group we were placed into based on our interests in the weekly topics. With the pod groups, we did small assignments like an infographic and with the other group, we created presentations to present in class. Other homework assignments included the readings (which could sometimes be long, but you could get away with not doing all of them) and weekly discussion posts based on the readings & your personal experiences. I highly recommend participating in class! Definitely take this class! Super fun teaching team & course!
