Spring 2020 - Bruv this class SLAPS. No honestly one of the most underrated Life Science GEs a UCLA student can take. The grading scheme was equally divided into 20% for all of the following: Participation, Self-monitoring (I'll explain below), Midterm, Final, Final Paper. This is a class that teaches you to become a better person, whether more productive, more mindful, more appreciative, the list goes on. Every week Professor Korb gives you these "interventions", and you complete them on your own time and then evaluate how you feel on a Google Form. This constitutes the "self-monitoring" grade. Then, at the end of each week, you write up a 1-page log. At the end of the quarter, you'll have a 6-10 page double-spaced paper which is actually not too hard. As for the lectures, go to them and do the readings! Now, for non-LS majors, neuroscience may sound difficult but the material is actually quite easy and stripped down so don't worry! I am selling all my comprehensive notes (with each lecture and reading) for $15. My notes contain bolded keywords and concepts and detailed drawings, and they definitely helped me get an A+.
