Vinson is SO helpful and truly cares about the wellbeing of students - he moved lecture AND a quiz for Election Day, had office hours if we needed them during holidays AND off of holidays if we were busy. He's genuinely so kind and always willing to explain more! Physics is hard and lectures are usually very clear, although you might not completely grasp the concepts intuitively. There's also a disconnect between level of difficulty of examples we do in class and examples that are on quizzes. The four quizzes we take in lieu of midterms range from very easy to very hard (one had a mean of 49.5/50, while another had a mean of abound 70%. Read the textbook, as it helps you grasp the concepts intuitively. Overall, I don't think I came through with a super clear understanding of physics, but I would 1000% take this class with Vinson again.

The professor explains things really well and does not over complicate the subject like other physics professors. I feel that I understood the concepts and mastered them greatly. The professor is generally accommodating and cares about his students learning and give reasonable exams and assignments. The HWs are similar to the exams and prepares you for them. His written notes during lctures are great and explains a lot, some of the quiz questions (we had 4 quizes, 9 HWs, and one final) actually came from eamples from the lecture notes. The quizes were not comulative and ually covers 4 lectures and their two HWs. He is pretty flexible with deadlines and would move them if needed. The textbookis not really needed for anything except finding the HW questions so if you have a way to get them then you should be fine without.

My only complaint is againts the class material itslef, we cover topics from fluids to waves and then electricity which is pretty distracting.

This is my first review at Bruinwalk (Currently a sophmore) becuase I never felt so compelled to review a professor (bad or good).

Without a curve I would prob get an A-, with the curve I am not sure, lets hope that he uses a good one.
