Boring, monotone lecturer who occasionally attempts jokes unsuccessfully. Lots of reading, but only the Chambers book is crucial. Rest of reading is only needed for discussions (hardly appear on tests). His very extensive, detailed lectures cover everything for the tests and are really a repetition of the Chambers text. By the end of the quarter I realized I could either 1) do ALL the reading and not go to class OR 2) go to class, take excellent notes, and not do the reading. Both methods got me into the A- range each test. Essay Q's are not bad at all for either test or for the paper. MC's can be tricky. I'd say a B+ is easily obtainable (thats what most of my not-hard-working friends got).
Lecture was boring at the beginning extremely difficult to follow. A little more clear after the midterm. The midterm and final were not cumulative and the readings were pretty interesting, kinda related to sociology, if you're into that sutff.
