RE: 136C Britain Since 1832,
This class should be called "Political History of Britain Since 1832" as it is about 90% politics. Don't take this class if you are looking for living history, that is if you want to know what the people looked like, felt, did, ate, how they lived and so on. While you may get some small sense of that in particular eras, this class is overwhelmingly about politics. If you have a serious interest in Brit history, absolutely take this, but try to find other classes covering culture (religion, art, whatever) to round you out.
I found the lectures very detailed, and the professor very receptive to questions. To succeed in this class, closely follow the lecture outlines and be prepared for the professor's diversions. He will answer questions in detail, even if the questions have little to do with the assigned material.
