Cares so much about student learning, which is so important in a foreign language class. She really lays out the readings, making them really accessible and drawing out intersting details, and encouraging class discussion even though it's a huge lecture.
My friend told me that I'd want to marry this woman by the end of the class, and I can't say that I wouldn't.
Undoubtedly the most prepared professor I've ever had. Her obvious passion for the subject matter and her outstanding rhetoric abilities capture the attention of her students to an extreme far beyond the quintessential literature professor. While time-consuming, the readings prove fun and fruitful as they represent history in its artistically rich essence. In addition, the assigned TA's demonstrate superb dedication, time, and commitment to the success of the individual student. Overall, a rewarding course equipped with a perfect team of leaders.
She is the best! She is so passionate about the material and she is very welcoming if you have questions or comments on the readings. She actually made me interested in spanish literature. She tries to make everyone feel comfortable by encouraging people to make comments in English, Spanish or even Spanglish. Some readings were long but she goes over what you need to know in class. Even though she spoke somewhat fast she repeats whats important many times. Her TAs are great. Her midterm and final are very fair and I did not think it was that hard to get an A (I've had to work alot harder in other classes). Shes a wonderful person as well as a great professor!
DDUUDEESSS she is one GREAT professor. Her lectures are very enjoyable, she is very eloquent and overall kick-ass. Her TA's were also very nice. She is just great. I don't know what my grade is yet but going in to the final I had an A - and it wasn't hard to get relative to other courses I've taken @ UCLA. Just listen well to her analysis, study it and add your thoughts and bam! you got an A. It will take work but not too hard or time consuming at all. Except if your spanish is lacking BUT then she will help you out and A LOT of the course is conceptual REVIEW so you should be ok nevertheless.
