Description: Seminar, three hours. Requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. Freshmen/sophomores preferred. Investigation of performance and choreography as aesthetic and social practices to create transgression and transformation against maneuvers of power. Discussion of key concepts such as body politics, agency, vulnerability, intimacy, precarity, resistance, refusal. Introduction to dance and performance scholarship, feminist theory, and Orientalism. Letter grading.
