Applied Microeconomics for Urban Planning
Description: Lecture, three hours. Preparation: passing score on microeconomics examination given first day of class. Practical use of economics in analyzing public resource allocation problems. Topics include review of marginal analysis, difference between equity and efficiency, public goods and free rider problem, environmental pricing, public service pricing, and conflicts between individual and collective rationality. Letter grading.
