Winter 2023 - This class consists of regular homework, quizzes, labs, a midterm and a final. Professor Kim is very understanding and always willing to help students succeed. To review for exams, utilize the practice problems he gives and the practice midterm. They are very helpful. He also allows a cheat sheet during exams, so make sure to make use of it. The lectures are podcasted and attendance is not required. Extra credit was given for taking complete notes of lectures. Professor Kim is super sweet and often funny in lectures.

Summer 2023 - Professor Lew is great! She cares about her students actually understanding the material and the processes but doesn't make us actually do the calculations. There are no midterms or exams rather than the final, which is 30 minutes and worth 10% of your grade. Her lectures may be kinda boring sometimes but they do provide a thorough understanding of the material. Her office hours are also very helpful to clarify any topics that you didn't understand. The workload is pretty manageable with one assignment and one reflection a week (6 assignments, but the lowest score gets dropped, no drops on the reflections, they are graded complete/not complete) but the labs can be confusing, especially if you've never coded before. However, my TA (Hao) was great and happy to answer questions. The meet-the-professor is also worth 10% of your grade. However, coming to lecture is crucial because the in-class assignments (there are two per class) make up a significant portion of your grade. Overall, it's an extremely class to pass and pretty easy to get an A! If you can, definitely take it with Lew.

Wow.....His lectures were completely disorganized. You were never sure which concepts or formulas you would need from them until you tried the homework and by then you'd forgotten them already, even if you did it right after class. The tests were relatively straightforward and were in large part based upon his review sheets so I ended up getting an A in the class. However I don't feel that I've truly learned very much at all about statistics. The lectures were just too fractured. It doesn't help that half of the stuff Dr. Li lectures about simply isn't in the book, and what is in there is horribly written. You're pretty much on your own. Pray you get a good TA.

Winter 2024 - This is an easy class, however it is not a free A. 25% midterm, 10% lab and 55% final, so you basically need to get an A on the final if you want an A in the class. The exams are not difficult but they are very short (midterm was 20 multiple choice questions and final was 30 multiple choice questions) so there is not much room for error. Neither the midterm or final was curved, but since it was multiple choice you could just guess if you didn't know the answer and you didn't need to show work to get the points. I think the average for the midterm was 16/20, but he gives you a practice midterm and final. They are not that similar to the actual thing but it is really the only thing that helps you study for the exams because the homework is irrelevant to the midterm and final. The midterm and final are also open note but that is lowkey just an excuse to make the exam unnecessarily difficult. There is only 4/5 assignments the whole quarter about 5-7 problems each and will take you less than 30 minutes to do and they are graded on completion, not accuracy. The labs are free points, as long as you go to your discussion section, the TA will spoon feed you the code. If you took AP Stats in high school you should get at least a B in this class.

***ECON 41*** I want to take the time to warn everyone who takes ECON 41 with this professor in the future that there is practically NO CURVE WHATSOEVER, and, therefore, you MUST pull 80s or higher on the exams if you want anything higher than a C. Definitely a hardcore weeder class. You have been warned.

If you don't like going to class which I don't this class is lame, because if you don't make it you loose stupid participation points from lectures and its idiotic. I highly suggest not taking this professor if you don't go to class, her lectures are pointless and I have to go for the participation, which I never get because its always on some random day I don't go. Overall easy class, just do all the tedious requirements to do well, doesn't test ability, it tests stamina to not quit on pointless tasks, which is harder in my opinion than ability.
