You, Me, and Our Mental Health

Description: Seminar, one hour. Interactions with mental health involving personal and societal stigma surrounding mental illness. In-depth analysis of history of mental illness and how this history has affected contemporary stigma. Movement from historical ideas of mental illness to modern ideas and treatments of mental illness, with focus on college campuses. Introduction to counseling and psychological services programs across range of college campuses. Methods range from data analysis to personal anecdotes. Compilation of these experiences to form comprehensive, educated opinions about mental health treatment in America with focus on colleges. P/NP grading. Facilitated by Zarina Wong, with Michael Gaddis as faculty mentor.
