Spring 2017 - The class was relatively easy. The class consisted of 2 reflection papers (10% each) that were about your own personal experiences, one midterm research paper (30%) about your own family background, and one final group project (50%). The hardest part was probably the midterm paper, and even that was pretty easy. The class was actually interesting. Saba would bring a speaker to almost every class. The subject is probably a little harder if you are not Persian or Jewish, but I would still recommend it. The only negative I have is that she was not very clear with what she wanted from us. I think almost everyone received an A. Just make sure you have good grammar on you essays.

Winter 2018 - Class was difficult. Readings were horrible. Sometimes the topics were interesting but for the most part the topics were boring. I did end up hating corporations for the shady things they do in order to make profit. The professor was a difficult because for the final he wanted a lot of things. For example, he wanted a lit review with a proposal that came up to 15 pages. The 15 page isnt the problem it, the problem is that he didnt help you with the proposal and kind of left you alone. Came out of office hours more confused than anything more because he was intimidating with his knowledge. It is a research intensive class. I would never recommend him to anyone not just this class. The people who liked this class are full of themselves.

Spring 2018 - Not only is Zucker a bad teacher but she is probably one of the least helpful or caring teachers I've ever had at UCLA. She did not give us a single grade back throughout the entire quarter and randomly gave students A's, B's and C's. She knows some students from previous quarters/siblings and favors them so they received the A's. While the ones she doesn't know but submitted their work received B's and the ones who may have been late to class received C's. She does not respond to emails, and then she gets angry when trying to confront her about your grades. Stay away from this teacher. Shes too unpredictable and unfortunately the grade you get is not based on your work.
