Professor Mann is fantastic! He is incredibly knowledgeable and on par with some of the best academics of the day. I took this seminar class with him not knowing much about him or his theories and now I am a taking a political geography course that is partly about the social theories of Michael Mann. Its an unreal experience to read about someone's theories when you have discussed and argued theories with the person behind the ideas. Take him! Do the required readings, keep up on biweekly papers, and TALK in class!!!
