Actually had him for LS2; Arnold moves at a rapidly FAST clip. However, everything's contained in the lecture slides so study those well, and note the particular example he emphasizes in class. Those usually end up on the short free responses on exams. A rather average lecturer; he goes over the slides and explains them, but I didn't feel he did more/explained it better than the book did. If you can keep up with his pace and memorize everything, you'll be fine. Got an A in LS2.

Dr. Barnard is a very easy professor. He is very straightforward and tells you exactly what you need to know for the midterm. While he is teaching, its mostly just dry memorization of processes or facts. He is not very conceptual at all. An ample amount of studying will get you a good midterm score. However, he only teaches half of the quarter for Phy Sci 5, so after the midterm, Dr. Roberts takes over and he is the absolute opposite of Dr. Barnard. If you take Phy Sci 5 and you have both of these professors, be prepared to do a lot more studying when Barnard leaves. The only other downside to Barnard is that his lectures are very dry, monotone, and boring. It's very easy to want to nap or ditch all together when he teaches. Overall, I recommend Phy Sci 5 with Dr. Barnard.

Fall 2020 - This is my favorite class for my first quarter at UCLA. Dr. Esdin is so so nice and cute that I would definitely take his class in the future. His lecture is so clear that if you take good notes every lecture, the exams will be just a piece of cake for you. This class is not that time consuming as there is no homework, but you do have to finish a post-lecture pop quiz after every lecture (2-4 questions each) and this should be okay. The final project is really EASY! If you have the experience of writing IAs (IB), this project should take you less than a night. Overall, the workload is very light, the lecture is very interesting and you can definitely learn something, professor Esdin is really nice and helpful, the big project is easy and exams take only a very little proportion of the final grade. If you listen carefully and take good notes in the lecture, you will get an A very easily.

I took the Dinosaur class with Professor Friscia, I liked him and his is funny during the lecture. Overall not a too difficult class but the lab every week can be a pain in the ass. Make sure you understand the material and memorizing everything and I think you will be fine. I would recommend him

Professor Garfinkel is the absolute epitome of a brilliant professor. His brilliance, coupled with his unparalleled ability to explain difficult concepts in an easy-to-comprehend manner makes him the greatest professor that I have ever encountered. This is coming from a student who has taken classes at MIT, Harvard, and Columbia, and so you have my reassurance that his ability is not exaggerated. Take his courses.

Dr. Roberts is very charismatic and upbeat. He likes making jokes and keeping people interested during lecture. He is very engaging and allows any and all questions during class. I don't think I ever saw him not takes questions because of lack of time, disinterest, apathy, etc. He is very concerned and makes himself readily available after class to take more questions. However, he is much more difficult than Dr. Barnard, who sometimes teaches the first half of the class. His material is very conceptual and he likes challenging you on the final to expand on scientific ideas, including using math, to understand the principles behind diet and exercise and why they work. The final was completely difficult and I had a hard time answering it. However, overall, I recommend Phy Sci 5 with Dr. Roberts.
