LS4: I took LS4 with this professor, and I especially liked his lecture slide. Since he was not and experienced professor, his lecture is not as smooth as other professors, but I really enjoyed the class. Exam is a bit difficult, but as long as you like calculations and probability, you should be fine.

I took EEB 151A with him this past quarter. I would HIGHLY recommend a recorder...well, kind of. He tests on wierd random things (ESPECIALLY videos) but when it comes down to it, his lecture notes are SO disorganized that nothing really helps. Take this class if you have a good memory for useless/random bits of info. I learned some interesting things, but I definitely did not do well on the tests even after going through lectures multiples times. Don't miss class, because you'll miss the videos. But even if you're present, there's a good chance you'll suck at the questions on his tests because he pulls things out of nowhere. GOODLUCKKK

I had Professor Jacobs for GE CLST 70B (I know that's not what it says below, but there's no option to critique him according to that class. I would not advise taking a course with Professor Jacobs. His lectures are unclear and fairly disorganized. If you take a class with him, expect to teach yourself the subject.

LS4 Jacobsen taught the first three weeks (up until the first midterm) of LS4 and I really liked him. He presented the more basic, introductory concepts for genetics and I think he did a great job of keeping it simple and to the point. He is easy to understand, talks at a nice pace, and has a welcoming personality. Would definitely recommend.

LS4 Dr. Laski is a pretty decent professor. He stutters a lot, which can be distracting, and at times I thought he spoke pretty quickly/skipped some information that he just assumed we should already know. He is very intelligent and well respected in the genetics society, so sometimes I think teaching a basic introductory genetics course can be too "simple" for him, if you know what I mean. But he is pretty available for office hours and will answer questions/work through problems. He really does want students to learn and not just memorize, so he likes to ask questions that make you think about the concepts and not just something he said. He has a tendency to have mistakes in the lecture slides and even on the exams though. He is a bit all over the place it seems like sometimes

LS3 - This is a review of LS3.. not the 495... He gives 2 midterms, and one final. His slides are very dense, and his accent makes him hard to understand. Thankfully he podcasts the lectures and I was able to go over the lecture afterwards. His 1st exam was very hard. The 2nd midterm was a bit more fair, but the Final was hell. Only one person got an A in the final, it really set a horrible curve. It was extremely unnecessary for him to write such a badly worded and confusing exam. DO NOT TAKE HIM! I am a good student, and his class killed my GPA. It's not worth it to take it with him. He seems like a nice person, but as a professor he is unfair, and not worth taking.
