DO NOT TAKE 3C WITH GOLDBRING!!! He is definitely the worst math professor. I was one of the people who dropped during 10th week. I am taking Math 3C again with another professor this quarter. I can say that Professor Goldbring just made 3C so much harder. The professor I am taking now is much more clear on what he wants you to know for the final exams. Goldbring did give out practice midterms but they were nothing like the actual midterms! The actual midterms were 10 times harder than the practice midterms he gave you. I got A's for both Math 3A and 3B, but this professor screwed me up.

Spring 2018 - - wiley plus- can be found for like $60 on ebay btw, useless af and we only had 4 assignments - hw- 2/8 assignments got dropped - tests- just like practice exams, DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS. test averages are like 85% - final curve was pretty good - she posts this girls lectures notes online and that's all you need. you really need to go to lectures tbh

MATH 3C SELLING BOOK!!! Calculus for Biology & Med (3rd) with solution manual!! Neuhauser pub: Pearson Edu ISBN: **********642 looking for $100 or best offer!!! HMU (text) ********** I took Hall spring quarter last 2014. That was when he just started teaching I think. He was a TA before. I did not enjoy his class one bit. His lectures were confusing and he seemed awkward and uncomfortable. Often times we would be left confused about problems rather than have learned something useful. Its basic high school calculus, so if you did fine in high school, just bring that knowledge back and apply it here. I'm not sure if it was because it was his first time teaching or if he is still like that but he was not great! Didn't like him at all because we had to basically teach ourselves how to do the problems.

Spring 2019 - What a rough class. First and foremost, lectures are not podcasted and the professor does not use slides. Lectures were not very helpful and I was able to learn most of the material in discussion section; if you have a great TA you will be just fine. The homework is optional, but you are quizzed on the homework in discussion section every week. The professor is not the best lecturer, he was often very confusing and discouraged us to ask questions in class. However, I have heard that going to office hours was very helpful. He was also quick to respond to emails and clarify class material. The midterms are taken in class and difficult to finish completely but graded very fairly, you are also given an index card as a cheat sheet (which is quite helpful). The textbook is said to be optional -- it is VERY expensive -- but I probably would have understood the material if I had the textbook, since lectures were not helpful. Overall, I did not enjoy this class whatsoever, but if you do the homework, go to discussion and go to office hours, you will be just fine.

Ola's class was somewhat fairly structured. Her lectures were a little frazzled and sometimes it seemed like she had a hard time understanding the concepts herself. But it was curved very fairly. It is a lot of work outside of class since the homework is graded on correctness. Between the homework scores, two midterms and final, her class is fairly graded.

Fall 2015 - Leary was my favorite professor last quarter. His lectures are incredibly straight-forward and the examples he explains in class are directly applicable to the small amount of homework he assigns every week. The tests are very fair and he's very approachable. Highly recommended!
