Introduction to Financial Mathematics
Description: Lecture, four hours. Requisites: courses 32B, 33B. Designed to prepare students for Society of Actuaries Financial Mathematics examination. Provides understanding of fundamental concepts of financial mathematics and how those concepts are applied in calculating present and accumulated values from various streams of cash flows as basis for future use in reserving, valuation, pricing asset/liability management, investment income, capital budgeting, and valuing contingent cash flows. Letter grading.
