Spring 2023 - I took 31A with her. It was horrible. Majority of the class failed the final exam. She goes through content super fast and does not accommodate well for students who are new to the subject. Expects students to know a lot of things coming into the class. Worst class I have taken at UCLA so far.

Winter 2020 - I consistently scores 20/15 on homework, which meant answers 100% correct plus extra credit for neat, clear work. However the exams were graded on a completely different standard - answers which would have been worth full credit on homework were given half credit or less due to the professor's insanely strict expectations for what a proof is WHICH HE NEVER EVEN MENTIONED IN CLASS. This guy is terrible, his class is a trap for people unable to read his mind. Unless you have the answer key while you're taking the test, you're screwed.

This was the hardest and worst class I have taken at UCLA. The pace of the class is very fast, and the professor showed little concern with the difficulty of the material. The professor was very vague on what he wanted you to know, and then impossible questions would show up on the exams. I would take the course again, but I have no vested interest in the material and I couldn't put myself through the torture of a class like that again.

Summer 2022 - Regarding a previous review, I don't think it is entirely the professor's fault for his rating. The course is tough because there is a lot to cover in 6 weeks. I do admit that we all wished the class was curved, which it is not. The exams are timed and must be submitted correctly to receive credit. It hugely matters how helpful your TAs are since the professor does have other classes he is teaching and isn't readily available (unless it's his office hours). Be prepared to spend over 40 hours a week self-learning and practicing. Do problems in the textbook or other resources you can find. Many questions are trick questions and require a deeper understanding of the material. IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR GPA DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! This is the first class in my academic journey in which I received a bad grade. Highly recommend exposing yourself to the material before the beginning of the term since most who did well were already acquainted with the material. The grading scheme is alright. No exams were dropped, but the lowest homework was dropped.
