I just took professor Burke's Math 115A and absolutely loved it. He very much cares about the learning of his students and is willing to take the time and consideration to help them learn the material. At times he assumes that a student may know a concept, but if you are willing visit his office hours (which were beyond helpful) or just raise your hand in class he will take the time to give more details until it is better understood. Being Dr. Burke is a new professor at UCLA there is no doubt he will continue improving ( after reading these comments here I can without a doubt say he has already taken leaps and bounds in improving his teaching style). If you are actually interested in learning mathematics and want a teacher that is willing to put the time into helping you develop your foundation, then you should really consider taking one of Dr. Burke's courses.

Conley is hands down the best lecturer I've had here at UCLA. although he is a bit slow he teaches the content in a way that is clear and coherent. If you still don't understand or have additional question he is almost always available by appointment or in office hours which he normally extends until all questions are answered. I've taken him for 2 quarters consecutively now (33b and 115a) and I'm certain that if there's any abstract math topic out there, Conley is the best one to explain it.

His lecture notes are kinda unorganized and the course itself is also very hard(More proofs but less calculations than 33a). My suggestion: 1.Read the book and make sure you know very clearly about each theorem (know what they are and how to use them, but you don't need to know how to prove theorem itself because professor Hida said PROOF OF A THEOREM will NEVER appear on the exams) 2.HWs were a little hard but TA will help you during the discussion sessions so don't worry. 3.His review session before the exam IS ESSENTIAL!!!some of the problems he solved in review session will definitely appear in your real exam.

Note: I took 115A with him Schaeffer is a great lecturer, and a really effective teacher. He's engaging and makes his lectures interesting while still managing to cover the material. He's great at breaking down problems and is very helpful in office hours. 115A is a difficult course, but he really tried to make sure we understood the material, and was definitely invested in our learning. His exams are very fair, nothing out of left field. He's a nice break from math professors who tend to drone on and copy straight from the textbook. Take a class with him if you have the chance!!

I usually never give a review for professors. But she deserves one! (But i'll keep it really short) She's not only caring about her students learning but she can actually explain things. Her tests are super easy; the questions come straight from her homework or practice questions. She grades very lenient as well. The average for both midterms and finals was around low 80. Her tests are that easy! 1/3 of class gets As from her exams. On top of that, she gives a very generous curve at the end... I did really bad on my second midterm and final but still ended up with a B+ which I still think it's mysterious. She's such a sweet, intelligent lady!

my review is not that important because he is not gonna teach here anymore, but I just feel like to do it. He is an average professor that you will have here. Because the linear algebra itself is a goddamn hard subject so I can't blame too much. And I have to mention the grader, whoever graded for this class is totally a jerk. His/Her grading style is way beyond picky. Overall, this is a class that made me start to hate math, not because of the Vilenchik(Danny), but the material itself.
