Description: (Formerly numbered 111.) Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Requisites: courses 102 or 103, and 119A or 120A or 120B. Recommended requisite: course C104. Survey of intonational theory for English and other languages, with particular emphasis on phonological models of intonation. Students learn to transcribe intonational elements. Concurrently scheduled with course C211. P/NP or letter grading.
