I took this class in the Fall 2014 and can say that she was very enthusiastic about teaching the class! I certainly learned a lot from her and because of her, I moved onto Syntax II. The general break down of the class is as follows: 40% Homework (5% each assignment) 25% Midterm 35% Final I really looked forward coming to this class every day! She made the class fun and is definitely approachable and will explain a concept to you over and over again if need be. By far one of my favorite classes here at UCLA. Overall, definitely recommend her!

Winter 2016 - The class is not hard, but her lectures and notes are somewhat unclear. Notes are extremely long, too detailed. She should try to give more examples to make her point rather than hand out long notes or slides. Maybe because it is her first quarter. But overall, she is a good teacher and her grading is great. There are total 2% extra points which are important. The median of the first midterm and final is like 85% and everyone gets a high homework grade. I think she does not curve on the final grade. I did higher than the average grade for both exam and 90% for all homework and quizzes and ended up with A.
