Linguistics and Speech Pathology
Description: Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Requisite: course 102 or 103. Introduction to field of speech pathology. Topics include biological foundations of speech, language, and hearing; and disorders of speech production, language, voice, and hearing, affecting children and adults. In-class presentation and final term paper required if taken for 4 units. P/NP or letter grading.

Professor Sundara has lots of experience in the field and is a great lecturer. The workload is manageable and accommodating. Course Breakdown: 4 online quizzes, 32% of the grade Transcription test, 10% of the grade Preliminary report on assignment 1, 5% of the grade Preliminary report on assignment 2, 5% of the grade 2 assignments, 28% of the grade Term paper, 10% of the grade [Due 1 week after last day of class] In-class presentation, 10% of the grade You can take this class for either 2 or 4 units.
