Fall 2019 - I loved this class! I found it to be one of the most straight forward linguistics classes at UCLA I've taken so far. Professor Goldstein is great and really helps you understand the content. The content is not the easiest at times, but all of the resources are clear and very helpful. If you study you will do well. All there is is homework, a midterm and a second midterm (final) that isn't cumulative. Homeworks could be difficult here and there but the lowest grade is dropped. I found it easy to do well on the tests although the content was difficult enough. Change of language overtime is a very interesting subject, and I would highly recommend this course.
