Description: Lecture, three hours. Enforced requisite: course 100C or 100S with grade of C or better or Japanese placement test. Not open to students who have learned, from whatever source, enough Japanese to qualify for more advanced courses. Advanced readings and discussion for students planning to do advanced coursework or research on Japan. Topics selected from magazines, journals, and books related to humanities and social sciences. May be repeated for credit. P/NP or letter grading.
