Personal Financial Health: Theory and Practice
Description: Seminar, three hours; fieldwork, four hours. Designed for College Honors students. Special economics or mathematics preparation not required. Theory and practice of managing financial health, allowing for broad discussion of larger theoretical picture of variables affecting economy and practical hands-on look at personal finance, including budgeting, debt, insurance, investing, and purchasing. Examination of variety of financial issues through three principal standpoints: psychology of finance, historical perspective of finance, and socioeconomic perspective of finance. P/NP or letter grading.
