Professor Bernhardt is an amazing lecturer! Her class was never boring, as hard as it may seem for a history course. The material was really interesting, and her delivery helped a lot as well. The readings are generally summarized in lecture, so pay attention and take good notes if you want to just skim the material.

Spring 2021 - Professor Cheung is very kind, but she is an extremely hard grader! The reading load for this course is heavy. The content is pretty interesting but had I known the class would be a heavy dose of reading each week + weekly Friday discussions about said reading for your participation, I probably wouldn't have taken it. All of that aside, she's a kind professor but doesn't tolerate cameras being off tardiness, or missing class without a valid reason with proof.
