Took her for 97C Joan of Arc. Norberg is a great professor and a great person as well. She's very patient and forgiving with the class. She allowed late work with only a small percentage docked off. Taking her class was one of the best decision in my UCLA career. Thanks to her enthusiasm, I enjoyed the class, participated, and got an A. Every week she personally grades our 2-3 pg paper and give great feedback on how to improve as a writer. I can't wait to take another class with her.

BY FAR THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had an amazing opportunity to study with him in Paris and i absolutely fell in love with him. Teo is the only good thing at UCLA! There are no words to describe how caring, smart, loving, and passionate he is. Your UCLA experience will not be the same if you dont take a course with Teo!

Do not take this professor. I just took him and he is utter hell. I hate most bruinwalk postings, but this guy is literally the worst professor I've taken at UCLA. There is no paper topic yet, which, in most classes is a good thing because it gives students the possibility to make the paper more free ranging, analytical and easier to write. However, this is Michael Salman. He already has in his own head a pre-conceived notion of what the paper is supposed to look like, without telling any of the students and marks down papers which do not fulfill his requirements, even though he gives no clear cut requirements in the first place. He is also extremely pompous and loves to hear the sound of his own voice despite the fact that it was a seminar and despite the fact that on the first day of class he said he will let the students do most if not all of the talking. He is also very hostile towards opinions which deviate from his. Do not take him unless you are willing to kiss an extreme amount of ass and lose self dignity and even then earn only a B.

Summerhill quickly became my favorite professor at UCLA. I took 97e in fall 2014, and by around week 4 I was super into the class. You HAVE to be involved in the discussions, but the reading is reasonable, and relatively interesting. I wouldn't say this is an easy class, but I would say that Summerhill motivates you to want to put the work in. He's fair, and he makes a real point of contributing energy and passion to his classes. Summerhill is the type of professor you always hope you will find.

One of the toughest classes I've ever had, but it was worth it because it made me a better writer. It also made me better at analyzing primary sources. He pushes you to give him your very best, although if you're looking to help your GPA more than your writing skills take someone else.
