Winter 2015 - Anderson has a large body of knowledge about history. Unfortunately you seen terminally unable to separate his far left political views from the actual facts. And to make matters worse Anderson has an well -recognized and long-standing antipathy toward israel in particular, and Jews in general, which is beyond obvious to anyone making even a cursory review on his publications. Much of his narrative about Israel is wildly distorted and factually dishonest, so much so that it seems it could only stem from deep seated hostility and bias that smacks of frank anti-Semitism. I went to all this trouble booting reviewing the number of Anderson's potations come because that her rumors about his anti-Semitism which apparently is fairly widely known. I wanted to you to confirm it's an item for myself, unfortunately can't come to the conclusion that Anderson such a racist anti-Semite that I would not take his class again, we were going to recommend him to any other student. His personal biases so cooler the instruction it's hard to imagine having a worthwhile experience with this guy. I'm not personally Jewish but I think we all need to guard against bigotry and racism against any singled out minority. The consequences of uncheckedanti-Semitism have been only too obvious and and destructive to ignore wherever it rears its ugly head

Winter 2023 - Professor Stacey was fantastic in all ways. He had very engaging lectures as was always very helpful if I had any questions. The class is comprised of two papers with several prompts to choose from and I would say it was graded not too harshly for most. If you do the readings each week, you will absolutely do well. Overall great class!

Ok lets get one thing straight..Symcox is a fucking genius and theres no denying that. I wish I could say the same about his TA...she doesn't wear deodorant and gives everyone a B- on the midterm and the final. I think its because shes experiencing menopause a good 20 years to early. Lesson is..dont take his class, avoid it at all costs, the only B- I have on my transcript from UCLA is from this guys class, and I'm a history major that graduated with a 3.6 overall GPA.

Believe it or not! After you read those bad comments about him, you should truly evaluate your choice to take his class. It will hurt your GPA. I chose not to trust those comments and worked very hard (went to all his lecture and took very detailed notes) but still could not figure out why I could not get an A?! He is very old school and you pretty much have to predict what he wants. His lecture has much information but is very monotone and boring. I have no doubt about his knowledge but he's not a good professor. At the end of the course, ppl asked him what class he will teach so they can avoid him. That's how bad it was.
