Berend is an interesting guy with a lot of knowledge. His lecturing style is kinda boring, but if you're interested in Eastern Europe you shouldn't have a problem staying awake and learning a lot. He likes dates, so keep those in mind when you're writing your essays for his tests. Slip in as many as you can. The questions aren't really that bad. He gives you them before hand and then picks some of the ones he gave to actually test you on. It was a good experience.

Winter 2023 - prof milos is a really nice lecturer, very incredibly understanding guy. i did not think I was so engaged in the lectures but maybe thats just me. His workload is definitely doable and I think if you put in the effort there is no reason not to get an A. i wasnt very interested in the topic i think and so I honestly did not really enjoy the lectures thatmuch. however, hes a really understanding professor and is helpful in office hours and really does want his students to succeed.
