Fall 2024 - Absolutely incredible class led by Guruji-- he brought such a welcoming atmosphere to the class with his daily rants and lighthearted spirit. He said "give me only 15 minutes outside of the class each week and you'll succeed" and was exactly right-- the class is structured with a pace and workload in a way that hardly 15 minutes spent finishing worksheets outside class was enough to learn two different scripts, about seven tenses, and beginner fluency at speaking and reading comprehension. By the end, the whole class was friendly with one another and our TAs, making the language feel far less daunting to repetitively question and deepen our understanding.

Fall 2015 - I took the entire intro series in 2015-16. Guruji is an excellent and hilarious professor who really cares about her students. If you want to learn, you will, and she'll do everything she can to help you. The class isn't terribly hard, and she makes sure to keep the exams reasonable. I'd highly reccomend taking the series, and I wish I could do intermediate if I had the time.
