Winter 2025 - Short weekly essay (50%) Participation (20%) Final Paper (30%) This topic is extremely interesting and the professor is very passionate about it. The lectures are way too long and not very engaging, which is a shame because the professor himself is very engaging when in discussion. Participation is not done in any discernible way, he did write something down sometimes but never did any roll call, so I can't say how it actually happened. If you don't mind writing essays, this class is very easy. 5 three page essays during the quarter and one final 8-10 page research paper that you can reuse a topic for. I found it interesting to be able to dive into a topic in this way and think if you are the type of person that goes to office hours Dr. Mccoy is just the professor for you, he seemed to like engaging with students and their viewpoints and it was very encouraging.
